June 17, 2016: Message from the Pastor

Christmas EvePastor’s Message

Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

This Sunday is Fathers’ Day. I suggest you come to church and bring your father or your son or daughter. If this does not describe you, then perhaps you can find a man who does not have a child or a Dad whose child is far away. Or the other way around. Maybe there is a man who could adopt a son or daughter who is far from family.

Our sermon this Sunday is on Luke 8:26-39 and it is called “Tell Your Story”. Your story may include brokenness or healing or (most likely) both. It may include both help and hurt but it is your story and it is sacred because it is yours. It is part of you. Getting to know someone always includes hearing their story–the Story of their life and the stories in it.

The man who lives in today’s text has a new story after meeting Jesus. His story would never be the same because of one interaction with Jesus. The man was off course and his encounter with Jesus made all the difference. He crossed paths with Jesus and the story of each of them would not ever be the same I hope you’ll come hear it and hear Jesus’ healing and hope for all your relationships.

See you Sunday! 8:45 a.m or 11:00 a.m.!

We welcome ALL!

Pastor Sam

P.S. 17th Street is still a mess. The good news is that they appear to be making progress.

When you come to church, you can approach the church from the south…from the Elementary school. From 114, turn on Harwood and then turn right down toward the elementary school. Go by the Cemetery and come up 17th from the south.

Or, you can come on across Harwood, and cross the moat over 17th street. There is a little gravel landbridge there.

See you in church!
