You may have noticed that Austin’s title has changed from Youth Director to Director of Ministries. Austin will still be our Youth Director and continue to work on building up our youth ministries. At the same time, Austin will aid, coordinate, and advise the various ministries around the church. This does not mean leading particular ministries but being a go-to person to help us all work together in our service to the Lord.

Sometimes we plan an event without knowing about others that may conflict in time, space, or other resources. He will work to keep all our ministries coordinated with an eye out for overlap.

We are not a big church, but we are a vibrant church. By coordinating our efforts and keeping the pastor and office personnel apprised of what various ministries are doing, we can make the most for God’s Kingdom.

Austin will also form a group to consider what are the most important beliefs to teach at various ages. We will also look at a curriculum that will help us work together as we learn about living our life in Jesus Christ our Lord. 

I will be working closely with Austin as we move forward. It may take a little time to get the most out of the change, but I believe this is a positive and exciting step in our growth as First Methodist Church Bridgeport.
