Welcome Rev. Woodrow (Woody) Weilage, Our Interim Pastor

UMC CrossPlease welcome Rev. Woodrow (Woody) Weilage as he joins us as an Interim Pastor!

Rev. Woodrow (Woody) Weilage is a retired United Methodist pastor who lives in McKinney, TX, with his wife Vanessa Vaughter. Woody’s son Jordan, is a 1998 graduate of Jacksboro High School and he lives in Dallas.

After moving from Nebraska in 1972, to attend Perkins School of Theology at SMU, Woody chose to stay in the North Texas Conference where he was ordained as an Elder in 1978. He started his ministry in 1975 as a youth minister at FUMC Wichita Falls and concluded his ministry at Aldersgate UMC in Carrollton, TX in 2011.

Woody and Vanessa enjoy traveling and fishing and love being in the Rocky Mountains. They have also been fortunate to travel together to Russia and Italy. Vanessa will travel to India in June to participate in training 60 Christian women in a 6,000-member church how to lead Bible studies for women who are survivors of domestic violence. They enjoy their 100-year-old home which serves as a great place for their family heirlooms.
