Hey, does anybody remember the 60’s group The Beach Boys? They had a hit called “Fun, Fun, Fun.” The part that always floats around in my head is “And we’ll have fun fun fun now that daddy took the T-bird away.” Well, you may ask what that has to do with the church. And the answer is, pretty much nothing. But your church is looking to have some fun as well as worship this summer. First, we will gather with all the Wise County United Methodist Churches this Sunday evening, July 18th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for food, fun, and fellowship.

This is a great opportunity for a summer Wise County-wide church family gathering. Boyd will be hosting a “cornhole-bean bag toss” contest including a Grand Prize. Of course, Bridgeport will bring home the prize! We will have music, food — desserts by Bridgeport — our D.S. Todd Harris will bless the elements of communion. It should be, as they say, fun for all ages! And spiritually enhancing and a strengthening of our ties together in Christ. Invite the family and friends! We will meet at FUMC Decatur in their new MAC building which is just across the street from the church. The address is 104 S. Miller St. Decatur. So, park the T-bird, grab up the family and some friends, and join us as we celebrate our life together with Jesus Christ.
