From the Pastor’s Pen: August 2014
Vespers is done. For now. But I imagine we will get back to it next summer! I appreciate that we had such great representation from Bridgeport for the service and dinner we hosted on July 20, 2014, and for the one where I preached, which was on July 27, 2014. There, at Oak Grove, the preaching was enhanced by Hunter Townes singing “Jesus Loves Me.” We got to keep the crystal cross attendance award for those two sessions and I understand that was our first time in a couple of years. You are inspiring me with your faithfulness and with your love for the Lord and for the church. If you have been staying back just to see what happens with the new preacher, you are missing out! Come on back! Summer is almost done and school will start soon and it will be football season and fall.
This Sunday, we get to hear from some of our UMYF who went to summer camp. At my request, Lauren Stowers is getting the group together to tell us some of their camp stories and I have also asked them to serve communion with me. I hope you will be inspired!
