What is Holy?

There are intersections in life where people, lives and events come together. Like a busy metroplex road they can be a challenge. Particularly at high speeds and certainly on ice. The type when even though we try our best, the car just takes its own route and moves us in ways we don’t want to go.

Life often happens at high speed and for better or worse, moments of impact depend on those around us or the weather, like rain, snow and ice, dust or wind. We plan our best, do our best, and life comes at us, sometimes in unexpected ways. In spite of our plans for the events we know may occur, it’s often the ones we never thought were possible that leave scars on our body, our mind, our soul or even all three.

Difficult and impactful events happen in the everyday. These are the times when we look to God to get us through. Sometimes we turn to God in question and anger. Others, we just take in the damage and move on. These events can leave a memory that can last a lifetime and some even for generations. They become holy moments, holy times and places, holy ground.

So, what is Holy? What makes an event Holy? Is it God? YES. Is it set apart for the work and worship of God? YES. There are more personal definitions as we live life and certain times become holy to us.

Join us Sunday and we’ll talk about that set apart time that touches us in ways that nothing else can.

May the Peace and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
