The Gift of Ordinary Faithfulness

Not every work of God arrives with thunder and lightning. Sometimes the kingdom of God comes quietly: a prayer offered before breakfast, a pew filled on Sunday morning, a casserole carried to a neighbor, a kind word spoken at the right time, or a volunteer who shows up again and again.

Paul writes in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.”

That is a good word for summer. Schedules change. People travel. Routines loosen. And yet, the call of Christ remains beautifully steady. Keep praying. Keep worshiping. Keep serving. Keep loving. Keep doing the next right thing.

Ordinary faithfulness rarely feels impressive in the moment. But over time, God uses it to build strong families, healthy churches, and hopeful communities. The seeds we plant today may become shade for someone tomorrow.

So do not underestimate what God can do through our steady obedience. Heaven notices what the world overlooks.

Faithfulness is not always flashy, but it is always fruitful.
