Director of Music
Candidates will be expected to plan and lead our Sunday worship music. They will need to collaborate with the pastor and other members of the worship team as well as direct our choir and other musicians.
The Director of Music will need to be able to work in a variety of music genres. The Director will work with soloists and small groups as well as our choir. Our choir primarily sings classical Christian hymns.
The Director of Music will lead Wednesday night choir practice and the choir during Sunday morning worship services.
Average week: Wednesday practice with our choir is 1 hour starting in the early evening. Sunday worship time is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Occasionally, extra hours will be necessary for Choir specials, as well as the Easter and Christmas holiday period.
The ideal candidate will have a professional and enthusiastic personality capable of fostering relationships with other musicians and church members.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Church Secretary
The Church Secretary plays a vital role in supporting the administrative functions of the church. This position requires a highly organized individual who can manage various clerical tasks, maintain effective communication, and provide excellent customer support to church members and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer literacy skills and be familiar with office management practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage front desk operations, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
- Handle phone systems, directing calls appropriately, and taking messages as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and files, ensuring confidentiality, and organization of sensitive information.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and events for church activities.
- Provide clerical support including data entry, document preparation, and correspondence management.
- Coordinate with church staff to facilitate communication and support various administrative needs.
- Implement time management strategies to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Assist with customer support by addressing concerns or questions from congregation members promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a similar clerical role is preferred.
- Strong computer literacy skills with proficiency in office software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with office management practices and phone systems is advantageous.
- Demonstrated time management abilities to ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer support and maintain positive relationships within the church community.
