A Note Regarding the Safety Meeting

On Wednesday the 19th, Sergeant Elledge of the Bridgeport Police Department met with us to discuss how we should respond to violent intruders. We are very grateful to our Bridgeport police and Sgt. Elledge for taking the time to speak with us.

The Board of Trustees will meet to consider what we can do to ensure our worship and gatherings remain safe and peaceful for everyone.

One of the easiest ways to keep our loved ones safe is simply locking the doors. Fifteen minutes after worship, all doors leading into the church will be locked. I realize, at times, this may be inconvenient, but it is important for the safety of our congregation. There have also been surveillance cameras installed at strategic points of entry. The Trustees will be considering a safety team to be present. I encourage you to talk to a Trustee member if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you and God bless you.
